SCO heads of government to talk anti-terrorism fight at China summit

BEIJING, December 8. /TASS/. The heads of government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member-states will discuss the fight against terrorism and regional security issues at a summit in China in mid-December, Vice Foreign Minister Cheng Guoping told reporters on Tuesday. "The heads of cabinets of ministers will exchange views on the measures and cooperation in the sphere of fight against terrorism at the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the SCO. No doubt, this is a positive event," Guoping said. The sides will also voice their stance on the steps that need to be taken to maintain peace and for the development in the region, he said. The meeting of the Council of the SCO heads of government is due to be held on December 14-15 in Zhengzhou, in east-central China. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is a permanent regional international association that brings together Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
