SCO prime ministers’ meeting begins in China

WUZHEN, December 16. /TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev is taking part on Wednesday in a joint meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) heads of government together with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The Russian premier and the Chinese leader will later address the opening ceremony of the second world conference on the Internet governance held in Wuzhen in eastern China's Zhejiang province. The conference, which has the motto "Building a Community of Shared Future in Cyberspace," will last until December 18. Some 2,000 experts from 120 countries are taking part in the event, including eight heads of government and around 50 representatives of ministries of other countries. The Russian delegation is led by Medvedev, who is paying a four-day official visit to China. The Russian side will be represented by Minister of Communications and Mass Media Nikolay Nikiforov, the president of the Skolkovo Foundation and Renova Board Chairman Viktor Vekselberg, the head of Kaspersky Lab Evgeniy Kaspersky, director general of Yota Devices Vladislav Martynov and the head of the Russian Post Dmitry Strashnov. Ten forums are scheduled to be held as part of the conference. The participants will discuss 22 issues, including cybersecurity, introducing Internet innovations and also the development of trade.
