SCO summit in Ufa to adopt Development Strategy until 2025

BEIJING, March 24. /TASS/. The summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) to be held in July in the city of Ufa in Russia’s Volga region is expected to adopt a complex programme for the organisation’s development until 2025, SCO Secretary General Dmitry Mezentsev said on Tuesday. "The expected adoption of the SCO Development Strategy in Ufa is not just a document, but in a sense a claim to a new quality influence on the regional and international agenda," he said. According to him, this document will not be a specific plan, but will determine guidelines for the organisation until 2025. On March 13, Russian president’s special envoy for SCO affairs Bakhtiyer Khakimov told TASS in an interview that the SCO heads of state planned to discuss in Ufa 10 - 12 documents that have already been "more than 90 percent coordinated."
