Second Day Of Vienna II Talks Begins

Vienna, March 19, IRNA -- Talks between Iran and six western powers opened here on Wednesday on the second and final day of the Vienna II meeting, according to IRNA. The morning expert-level session is chaired by Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his European Union counterpart Helga Schmid. A main focus of Wednesdayˈs talks will be an exchange of views on the Arak heavy water reactor, Araqchi told Iranian media outlets earlier. Later in the day, there will also be a meeting between Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton to sum up all the main four issues which were discussed during the two-day talks. These included uranium enrichment, peaceful nuclear cooperation, removal of sanctions and the Arak reactor. The Vienna II talks which will conclude later this afternoon, have been cut short by Ashton in honor of the Persian Nowruz holidays. The next round of talks are scheduled for April 7-9 and is likely to be in Vienna again./end
