Senior diplomat rejects Reuterˈs claim over letter to Supreme Leader on talks with US

Tehran, June 13, IRNA – Iranˈs Foreign Ministry on Thursday rejected a recent report by Reuters claiming that Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi has sent a letter to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei calling for entering into talks with the United States. Spokesman of the Foreign Ministry Abbas Araqchi referred to the news agencyˈs report as ˈbaseless,ˈ said a statement issued by the Ministryˈs Press Office. He said it was a sort of Westˈs ˈstory-telling to divert public opinionˈ on the eve of Iran’s 11th presidential election which is to be held nationwide on June 14. Araqchi added it was not the first time that the West has made such calims./end
