Serbian Professor: Anti-Iran Sanctions, Economic War Against Nation

Belgrade, April 30, IRNA - A prominent Serbian expert in international affairs here on Tuesday described anti-Iran sanctions as an economic war against the nation. Speaking to IRNA, Professor Mica Jovanovic said the unilateral Western sanctions imposed on Iran over its nuclear program violate the regulations of human rights organizations.. He said such behavior should not be called as a way to promote democracy or serve the nations. Citing the Western powersˈ accusations against Iran as unprincipled and fallacious, he said Islamic Republic of Iran is fully committed to its religious beliefs and never takes steps beyond the peaceful framework of its nuclear program. Referring to the US-lead illegal and unjust sanctions against Iran since the triumph of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, Jovanovic noted that Iran has always managed to turn sanctions into opportunities.
