Settlement Of Syria Crisis Needs Solidarity Among Regional States: Dy FM

Moscow, March 4, IRNA – Settlement of Syria crisis needs solidarity among regional countries, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian said on Monday. He made the remarks at a press conference here on Monday. “Resolving the Syria crisis needs regional cooperation; Geneva talks on Syria failed because of the Westˈs wrong Middle East policies.” Amir Abdollahian noted that Iran is ready to cooperate with the regional countries to help establish security in the region. “Spread of terrorism and extremism in the region could lead to the events much worse than the September 11, 2001 terror attacks.” “Al-Qaida rose in Afghanistan but made the September 11 attack in the US soil, it means that the fire of extremism sees no borders.” He underlined that spread of extremism and terrorism threatens world security and stability. “Lebanon’s Hezbollah is a legal party there and Tehran’s support for it is political.” The deputy foreign minister traveled to Moscow on Sunday on a two-day visit./end
