Shamkhani deems nuclear deal possible

TEHRAN, Mar. 02 (MNA) – Ali Shamkhani said the possibility of reaching a desirable deal that observes Iran’s nuclear rights can be realized with sincerity and seriousness on negotiators’ side. Iran’s secretary of the Supreme National Security Council made the remarks during his meeting with Italian FM Paolo Gentiloni this Sunday. Shamkhani then pointed to the issue of terrorism and Tehran’s warnings against the consequences of arming terrorist groups as a pretext for opposing the legitimate government of Syria, noting that the current terrorist threats on the international scene were due to the wrong policies adopted by some western countries’ and their regional allies. He also noted the extensive history of civilization of Iran and Italy, stressing the need for the utilization of all existing capacities to further cooperation in economic, cultural and political arenas. Paolo Gentiloni, for his part, expressed hope for the success of Iran and 5+1 negotiations and stressed boosting of bilateral ties in various fields. He also hailed Iran’s efforts in resolving regional issues particularly in combating the ISIL extremism, adding Iran’s role in many regional issues has been highly ‘influential’ and ‘decisive.’ The Italian FM arrived in Tehran on Saturday and attended a press conference with Mohammad Javad Zarif on various regional and international issues. The next round of nuclear talks will kick off in the Swiss city of Montreux tomorrow and will continue until Friday.
