Shamkhani: Iran Ready To Broaden All-out Ties With Russia

Tehran, Feb 5, IRNA – Visiting Deputy Secretary of Security Council of Russian Federation Yevgeny Lukyanov conferred on Tuesday with Secretary of Iranˈs Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani on issues of mutual interests. Lukyanov is now visiting Iran at the official invitation of Shamkhani. In the meeting, Shamkhani highlighted the grounds for expansion of relations between the two sides and said Tehran is ready to bolster mutual cooperation in line with both sidesˈ interests. All should beware not to let others meddle in the friendly relations between Tehran and Moscow, he said. Hailing the resistance of Russia in dealing with the policies of those backing terrorist groups in Syria, he praised cooperation between Iran and Russia in various fields such as economy. The Russian envoy, for his part, expressed satisfaction with Iranˈs progress and said Moscow is determined to broaden relations and cooperation with Tehran. He also expressed the hope that the Russian president and the countryˈs secretary for national security council would visit Iran in the near future./end
