Singapore PM Congratulates Jokowi On His Election As Indonesia's Next President

SINGAPORE, July 23 (Bernama) -- Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong congratulates Joko Widodo, well-known by his nickname Jokowi, on his election as Indonesia's next president. In his Facebook post, Lee wrote: "Congratulations to Jokowi on his election as Indonesia’s next president. "Looking forward to working with him to strengthen Indonesia-Singapore friendship," added Lee. It was reported Widodo, 53, the Jakarta governor won the Indonesian presidential election with 53 per cent of the votes against about 47 per cent for ex-general Prabowo Subianto, 62. -- BERNAMA
