S.Korean Speaker Calls For New Era In Ties With Iran

Tehran, Jan 27, IRNA – Visiting South Korean Parliament Speaker said that ties between Iran and South Korea go back to 50 years ago, but we intend to start a new era in bilateral ties. Kang Chang-hee, after meeting with Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani, told reporters that it was his first trip to Iran as parliament speaker. He said in the meeting with his Iranian counterpart, they discussed economic ties and international issues. He expressed hope that Larijani pays a visit to South Korea soon, so both sides can discuss other different issues there. Kang Chang-hee continued that Iran is an important and big country in the Middle East and South Korea also is a successful country in economic field in the East Asia region. He stressed that South Korea has no mineral resources, but Iran is very rich in this concern. The speaker continued that technology of South Korea and Iranˈs mineral resources and manpower can be a good ground for developing mutual cooperation. Concerning agreement between Iran and Group 5+1, Kang Chang-hee said that Iran has implemented the Geneva agreement very well./end
