S.Leader: Iran’s Brilliant Achievements, Role Model For Nations Fighting Against US Puppet Regimes

Tehran, April 29, IRNA – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said the brilliant achievements of the Islamic Republic of Iran are invaluable experiences to be used by nations fighting against tyrannical and US puppet regimes. The Ayatollah noted that the first ever waves of the Islamic Awakening in the region upon the arrival of colonial powers were generally triggered by ulema and religious scholars. He said clerics and religious scholars have always been intellectual sources for the ordinary people and have move ahead of people in decisive junctures. The Ayatollah stressed that history has taught enemies of Islam that they could never bargain with Islamic ulema and scholars on national interest and principles. The Supreme Leader underlined the need for outlining a long-term target for the Islamic Awakening in Muslim countries which could be nothing less than “establishment of brilliant Islamic civilization”. Ayatollah Khamenei further urged the Islamic Awakening movements to take special lessons from the bitter and hilarious experiences of following the West in politics, ethics, manners and life styles. He reminded that the Islamic countries, because of their century-long imitations of life style and policies of hegemonic powers, are suffering from such plights as political dependence, financial poverty, collapse of morality and disgracing scientific backwardness despite their very long and brilliant records in all areas. Stressing that this does not mean hostility towards the West because of its geographical differences, the Supreme Leader said that what Iran is objecting to is the oppression, aggression and the moral corruption inflicted on the nations by the bullying powers. The Ayatollah pointed to attempts aimed at sowing discord among religions and ethnic groups as the most dangerous phenomena threatening the Islamic Awakening waves in the world./end
