S.Leader: Islam At Heart Of Developments Determining World’s Destiny

Tehran, April 29, IRNA – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said at the present juncture Islam has abandoned playing a marginal role in social and political arena and has found a brilliant position among factors determining future of the world. Addressing the opening of the international gathering of “Ulema and the Islamic Awakening” here on Monday, the Ayatollah said Islam offers a new outlook towards life, politics, government and social developments. The Supreme Leader referred to “Islamic awakening” as the most urgent topic in the Islamic world and said the movement will lead to re-emergence of the Islamic civilization in a near future. The Supreme Leader reiterated that the recent political and revolutionary developments in North Africa and Arab countries, enjoying world-scale impacts, are just preludes to greater events which will happen in future, the Supreme Leader added. Ayatollah Khamenei said the most prominent feature of the Islamic Awakening is the great enthusiasm the ordinary people especially the young generation show for revival of glory of the Islamic civilization. He said the day Islam gained victory in Iran and managed to shatter the strong US and Zionist regime fort in the country which is one of the most sensitive countries in this highly sensitive region, those with great insight realized that many other victories are yet to arrive./end
