S.Leader Urges Use Of Islamic-Iranian Model Of Progress

Tehran, March 5, IRNA – Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said on Monday that Islamic fundamentals should certainly serve as the basis for Islamic-Iranian model of progress. Ayatollah Khamenei, addressing a group of scholars, elites and university professors, said the prerequisite for formulating an Islamic-Iranian model of progress are courage, strong motive and use of young talents. The Paramount Leader said designing an Islamic-Iranian model of progress is a very a great, long-term and deep-rooted task. To fulfill the goal, one needs to influence the elite, and have dialog with all social strata, added the Ayatollah. Ayatollah Khamenei said designing an Islamic-Iranian model of progress is in fact a product of Islamic Revolution, so is designing a new and progressive civilization in all spheres based on Islamic thought and ideology. ˈSo, such a task should be a long-term process coupled with profound outlook.ˈ The Supreme Leader said that unfortunately, todayˈs world is influenced by western civilization which has dominated all aspects of human life. ˈThought and ideology is the main spirit of such a movement. In such a long-term procedure, any shortcoming or likely problem can be removed. In the process, one should avoid hasty actions, use new experiences and young talents so that the driving force can never be stopped.ˈ Ayatollah Khamenei referred to presence of young and highly motivated scientists in the advanced scientific centers of the country such as the nano and nuclear technology as well as the defense industry. ˈThe youth should be trusted because the youths have never ending motives and dynamism.ˈ Among other basic problems of western civilization is the high number of devastating wars in Europe over the past few centuries, said Ayatollah Khamenei, adding that problems and shortcomings in western civilization are due to lack of spirituality./end
