Slovenian ambassador: a Slovenian institute selected Turkish pm "statesman of the century"

HATAY (A.A) – March 5, 2012 – Slovenia's Ambassador in Ankara Milan Jazbec has said that International Institute for Middle-East and Balkan Studies (IFIMES) in Slovenia selected Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan as "statesman of the century". Jazbec, who visited Turkey's southern Hatay province on Monday, said that they were exerting efforts to develop business opportunities, investment facilities and trade volume between Turkey and Slovenia, reminding that he visited several cities within the scope of strategic partnership agreement which was signed between the two countries. Jazbec also said that Slovenia had a strategic importance in Europe thanks to its port cities. Noting that friendship and commercial relations between the two countries were increasing each day, Jazbec said that they were also exerting efforts to increase the trade volume. Jazbec said that IFIMES selected Erdogan as the "statesman of the century", adding that they were planning to present Erdogan his award during a ceremony that would take place in Slovenia.
