Somali deputy minister says Turkish premier's visit led great changes for country

MOGADISHU (A.A) - February 9, 2012 - Somali deputy education minister has said that important changes took place in Somalia following Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to the country. Speaking to AA correspondent, Somali Deputy Education Minister Abdelkadir Mohammad Bare said that other countries showed more respect to Somalia after Erdogan's visit. Bare said that Somalia, one of the most developed countries in Africa in 1990s, has been going through tough days due to civil war. Erdogan's visit opened new doors for the country, he said.  Bare said UN opened an office in Somalia, stating that other countries started to ask what Somalia needed in the education system. Turks assumed important roles in Somalia, he said. Turkish officials extended great support to Somali education system, he added.
