Southern Gas Corridor and the Contract of the Century ‘extremely important for the energy security of Europe’

Baku, September 22 (AzerTAc). Special Envoy and Coordinator for International Energy Affairs of the U.S. Department of State Amos Hochstein has said both the Southern Gas Corridor and the Contract of the Century are extremely important for the energy security of Europe, energy security of global community as well as the development of the region. “The US and Azerbaijan enjoyed strategic good relationship and I believe that this will continue as we are going into the future.” Mr. Hochstein stressed the importance of continuing strategic relationship and cooperation. He also added he was honored to be in Baku for the events marking the 20th anniversary of the Contract of the Century as well as the very important ground-breaking ceremony of the Southern Gas Corridor. “It was honour to speak in the event and read out Secretary of State John Kerry`s letter directed to President Ilham Aliyev.”
