Speaker and Premier plant trees on public day

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Speaker of parliament Z.Enkhbold planted trees in the “Parliament-2” grove area at the National park of Ulaanbaatar on the national public day of planting trees on Saturday. The tree planting event in the National park was attended by about 4,000 people including MPs, officials from the Presidential Office, the Development Bank of Mongolia, the Constitutional Court, NGOs, universities and secondary schools. They planted about 14 sorts of 3,500 trees, bushes and shrubs. The same day, the Prime Minister Ch.Saikhanbileg planted trees in a park in front of the Development Center of Silvics together with N.Battsereg MP, the Minister of Environment, Green Development and Tourism; D.Zorigt, the Minister of Energy; and officials from the Cabinet Secretariat for Government. Professional institutions have estimated that some one million people, 55,400 entities and organizations in duplicated counting have planted over eight million trees in last seven years, and 5.6 million or about 70% of them have been growing normally, underlined the Premier on the event. Pursuant to a decree of the President issued in 2009, the national public day of planting trees takes place twice a year on the second week of every May and October.
