Speaker attends IIPU session in Istanbul

Istanbul, Jan 21, IRNA - The 10th Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union (IIPU) session opened here on Wednesday attended by Iran's Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani. Several high-ranking local officials including President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the representatives from 53 IIPU member and 22 observer countries are attending the two-day event. Larijani, leading a parliamentary delegation, arrived in Istanbul, on Tuesday. Upon his arrival, Larijani was received by Turkish parliamentarians, Iran's Ambassador to Turkey Alireza Bikdeli as well as officials of Iranian institutes in Istanbul. While in Turkey, Larijiani conferred with IIPU parliament speakers including Turkey, Kuwait, Oman, Bangladesh and Yemen on issues of mutual interest and expansion of parliamentary cooperation.
