Speaker meets European Parliament reps

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Chairman of the State Great Khural (parliament) Z.Enkhbold Tuesday received a delegation of the European Parliament (EP). He expressed a satisfaction with this visit and wished the guests a success. The are taking part in the 10th consultative meeting between the Mongolian and European parliaments. He also said an intensification of the relations and cooperation with the EU and its members is one of the priorities of Mongolia’s foreign policy, and underlined that Mongolia determines the EU as its "Third neighbor", according to our Concept of Foreign Policy. The Speaker thanked the EU for fully supporting Mongolia’s democracy and a process of transmitting into the social--economic reforms, and for sharing experiences. In response, the delegates thanked the Speaker for receiving them and then discussed with him present situation of Mongolia’s social-economy, politics and development. Mr Enkhbold pointed out that Mongolia is focusing on combating a corruption in several phases, "we have established the Corruption Combating Agency (CCA) as the independent body for fighting against corruption". He added that Mongolian parliament adopted the law on “glass” account late 2014. Present at the meeting were also B.Bolor, a head of the parliamentary Standing committee on budget and head of the Mongolia-Europe inter-parliamentary group; Ts.Oyunbaatar, a member of the inter-parliamentary group; B.Boldbaatar, the secretary-general of the Parliamentary Office; and other officials.
