Speaker at signing of cooperation memorandum

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Chairman of the State Great Khural (parliament) Z.Enkhbold has participated in a ceremony of signing a cooperation memorandum between the Oyu Tolgoi LLC and the Erdenet Mining Corporation (EMC). The document was inked Monday by Mr Ts.Davaasuren, a director-general of the EMC, and by Mr Andrew Woodley, a president and CEO of Oyu Tolgoi LLC. Accordingly, the companies will cooperate in health, safety operations, environment, improvement of local management standards and in improving the mining sector of Mongolia. Mr Enkhbold emphasized that the two companies are collaborators not rivals because they sell products in the same market and without any problems. This is beneficial for the national economy rather than for upgrading the OT treaty, he added. The OT LLC is to create a satellite city with 15 thousand people population, this work is expected to begin soon because the underground mine’s matter is going to be solved, the Speaker stressed. The memorandum is to have an importance in improving potential of Mongolia’s mining, "you will exchange experiences in health, safety operations, environment and local management matters".
