Spokesman: Hague's Claim On Iran's Elections 'Unfounded'

Tehran, March 5, IRNA – Foreign Ministry Spokesman called British Foreign Secretary William Hague's claim concerning parliamentary elections in Iran 'interfering and unfounded'. According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department on Saturday, Ramin Mehman-parast said that British Foreign Secretary statement displayed again interfering stances of British statesmen against Iran. Hague had said on Friday that Iran's parliamentary elections was not 'free and fair'. Mehman-parast added that Hague has tried to ignore glory of people's presence in the free and fair election of Iranian parliament. Mehman-parast refuted Hague's baseless and unfounded claims and said that we recommend British officials avoid repeating grave mistakes of the past and not ignore reality of dynamic process of democracy in Iran. 'British statesmen had better respect choice of Iranian people and bow to the glory of Iranian nation and their strong move in defense of their independence and national interest,' concluded the spokesman./end
