Spox censures political aims behind issuing anti-Iran resolution

Tehran, IRNA – The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry highlighted transparency in Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, and expressed regret over issuing anti-Iran resolution under political aims. Such a resolution was issued while Iran has the most transparent peaceful nuclear program, Nasser Kanaani told reporters at his weekly press briefing on Monday. Asked about the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran’s measures towards the recent International Atomic Energy Agency resolution, the spokesman said it was expected that the IAEA would put aside political measures as Iran has constructive cooperation with the international agency. They should have let Iran-IAEA good cooperation continue, Kanaani underlined. He went on to say that the United States and the three European countries are unfortunately willing to interrupt technical relations between Iran and the IAEA. The Islamic Republic will react reciprocally to unconstructive measures; meanwhile, the country will have constructive interaction with those who do so, Kanaani underlined. Turning to the issue of human rights, the spokesman said politicization of the human rights is never been constructive. The spokesman went on to stress that using the issue of human rights as a tool will prevent the world community from achieving its goals. Further, he termed Germany as a country with a dark record in human rights in history. Baseless accusations against the independent countries in order to proceed their aims will be fruitless, the spokesman noted. Elsewhere at his remarks, the spokesman said the Islamic Republic has taken political and diplomatic measures towards anti-Iran actions made by the London-based media. Asked about situation of Syria, Kanaani said the silence kept by the international societies on the Zionist Regime of Israel aggression against Syria has led to continuation of those illegitimate attacks. Also about the terrorist operation carried out from the Iraqi Kurdistan region in west of Iran, the spokesman said Iran expects Iraq to shoulder its international responsibility and act within the framework of its bilateral talks with Iran. On November 14, the Ground Force of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) carried out its second mass missile and drone operation against the terrorist separatist groups in the Iraqi Kurdistan region in northern Iraq. During the operation, the IRGC missiles and drones targeted the bases of terrorist groups in northern Iraq. In an answer to a question about the US midterm elections, the spokesman said the Islamic Republic does not care what happens in the United States; the only important issue is that Washington has to put its hostile and illegal measures against Tehran aside. On the Vienna talks, Kanaani said Iran is faithful to the process of talks. Iran has not left the negotiating table and the country expects the other sides to be responsible, he added. About Azerbaijan’s claim, the spokesman said the neighboring country in north Iran has started a new round of psychological operation against Iran. Islamic Republic’s behavior is based on mutual interests, he said adding that Tehran advises Baku to use media as an opportunity for fostering ties and focus on common issues in order to promote cooperation and prevent misunderstandings . Asked about the Zionists’ claim about selling military equipment from Iran to Belarus, Kanaani said it just relates to Iran and its partner countries to decide to have cooperation in what fields. Further, he touched upon the Yemen issue and said Iran welcomes a truce in that country. Islamic Republic sees further US military presence in the region as a threat to stability and tranquility.
