Sr. Cleric Condemns Insult To Prophet Mohammad Disciple

Tehran, May 11, IRNA – Tehranˈs substitute Friday Prayers Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ahmad Khatami, in the second sermon of Friday prayers here, condemned desecration of Prophet Mohammad disciple Hujr ibn Adi tomb in Syria. He added that Shia and Sunni Ulama together strongly condemned this inhuman move to desecrate Hujr ibn Adi mausoleum in Syria. The ayatollah continued the move shows the enemies are trying to deepen religious differences, but Shia is completely aware of such conspiracies. The senior cleric said it is expected that Sunni Ulama distance themselves from Vahabbis as Shia Ulama do the same thing with the Bahaeiˈs. He continued that the Zionist regime attack against Syria had two positive consequences; first everybody found out that the Syrian opposition who have been killing innocent people and the Zionist regime are convergent. This move also strengthened resistance front and even Saudi Arabia condemned it, said the cleric. Somewhere else in his sermon, Ayatollah Khatami addressed presidential election and duties of Guardian Council in confirming or rejecting qualification of candidates upon law. He concluded that the enemies want that election not be held and are trying to boycott it claiming that it is not free, so the nation should do their best to hold the election in the most glorious way./end
