Sr. Cleric Hails Iran’s Firmness Against Enemies

Tehran, Oct 12, IRNA – Tehran’s Substitute Friday Prayers Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ahmad Khatami underlined that the firmness and resoluteness of the Iranians are the most important weapons to be used against the enemies. “We can confront the enemies’ plots by using these weapons,” Ayatollah Khatami said. “The reality is that the domestic firmness is the most powerful and the most valuable weapons against the enemies and e can overcome the enemies by using these phenomena,” he added. Ayatollah Khatami enumerated the internal firmness as believing in God, popular capacities, those of the youth particularly, consolidation as axis of unity, fairness, transparency and flexibility towards criticism as well as being apt to tolerance. “The Iranian nation has well preserved internal firmness in the past 35 years,” Tehran’s substitute Friday prayers leader added. Ayatollah Khatami pointed to participation of President Hassan Rohani in the 68th Session of the UN General Assembly, and said, “The Iranian diplomatic delegation tried hard in New York and the president delivered his speech according to facts and displayed a transparent image of the Islamic Republic of Iran.” He recalled that Hassan Rohani took a position against the Zionist regime, and said, “These are not values to be ignored, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei also stated that some of the incidents which took place in New York were not appropriate, the Supreme Leader says this issue fairly that the good things should be seen and the weaknesses and strengths to be expressed.” /end
