Standing committee backs bill on developmental policy and planning

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At their meetings on Wednesday, the Standing committees on economy and on state structure discussed and then backed a bill on developmental policy and planning and related to them drafts laws. After this, the committees considered as necessity to adopt them at a plenary meeting of the session. The draft law on developmental policy and planning has been formulated with aims to improve a quality of processing documents on developmental policy, to ensure coherence and implementation of the documents, and to form a legal environment for running monitoring and reporting. The draft authors say that, due to lack of long-term policy and planning, any programme on development, worked out by political parties, is demolished by succeeding power of government. "A new political party coming to power makes another policy, wasting time, which means that Mongolia still does not have a specific continuation of the state policy on development”. The bill aims to create legal conditions for ensuring a stability and unity of the developmental policy, they add.
