STATE SECRETARY MEETS IDEA SECRETARY-GENERAL

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr D.Gankhuyag Tuesday met with visiting Mr Yves Leterme, the Secretary-General of International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA). The State Secretary thanked Mr Leterme for visiting Mongolia to attend events of the 25th anniversary of the first democratic election of Mongolia to be celebrated on July 29, and affirmed that Mongolia is ready to boost cooperation with the IDEA and to share experiences. Appreciating Mongolian actions for developing and strengthening the democracy, Mr Leterme congratulated Mongolia on exchanging its experiences and achievements with Myanmar and Kyrgyzstan who are newly developing the democracy. The sides also exchanged views on the collaboration in Mongolia’s presidency for the IDEA’s Governing Council in 2015-2016.
