Supreme Leader appoints new Basij commander

Tehran, Dec 7, IRNA – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Wednesday appointed Brigadier General Gholamhossein Gharib Parvar as the new commander of Iran's Basij (volunteer forces). The Supreme Leader acknowledged the commitment and eligibility and invaluable experience of the new commander. The Supreme Leader appreciated services of the former commander of the Basij, Brigadier-General Mohammad Reza Naqdi and appointed him as deputy IRGC commander for cultural and social affairs. 1378/IRNA
