Supreme Leader pardons, commutes sentences of 1,052 inmates

TEHRAN,June 14(MNA) - Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei agreed to pardon and commute the sentences of 1,052 prisoners, reports said on Thursday. Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Amoli Larijani had sent a proposal to grant clemency to a number of eligible inmates on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Imam Mahdi (AS), the 12th Imam of the Shia, which fell on June 13, 2014 this year.
