Supreme Leader pardons, commutes sentences of some female prisoners

TEHRAN,Apr.21(MNA) – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei pardoned and commuted the sentences of a number of female prisoners, reports said on Sunday. Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani had previously made a proposal to grant clemency to a number of female inmates on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Hazrat Fatima (SA), the daughter of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), which is known as Women’s Day in Iran.
