Syrian opposition urges to resume Geneva talks on Syrian settlement

MOSCOW, April 5. /TASS/. Syria’s domestic opposition urges to resume Geneva-format talks on the Syrian settlement, Aref Dalila, a deputy chairman of the Syrian National Coordination Committee told TASS on Sunday, ahead of another round of intra-Syrian consultations in Moscow. "The Syrian crisis has grown into a serious international problem. Much time has elapsed but nothing has been done to stop the crisis, destruction, catastrophe," he said. Dalila noted that the Syrian National Coordination Committee had always been against warfare and foreign interference but this peace plan was not supported by all. "Forces that have been interfering into the Syrian affairs are only interested in the continuation of the war," he said. "Now, the most important thing is to stop war and destruction. And everyone must spare no effort for that." He called to release all prisoners and stressed the necessity of ensuring human rights. "We demand Geneva talks be resumed to find a political solution to the crisis," Dalila said, adding that the latest Geneva talks had been held as far back as February 2014. Read more
