Syrian refugees seek asylum in Turkey

Azerbaijan, Baku, March 7 / Trend A.Taghiyeva / A group of Syrian refugees consisting of 140 people, crossed Turkey's border to seek asylum, TRT Haber TV channel reported on Wednesday. Last week, about 100 Syrians arrived in Turkey and accommodated in the border regions. The number of Syrians crossing Turkish border over the past two weeks, exceeds 300 people. Anti-government protests which began in mid-March have persisted in Syria for almost a year. Daily reports are being received about the deaths of people, both civilians and the security forces. According to UN statistics, the total number of victims in the country exceeds 7,500 people.
