Syrian Situation Changing Positively: Larijani

Tehran, Sept 25, IRNA – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said Monday evening that situation in Syria is “changing in a positive way” due to the constant resistance of the Syrian people and government against enemies and their terrorist agents. In a phone conversation with his Syrian counterpart Mohammad Jihad al-Laham, Larijani hailed resistance of the people and government of Syria against vicious plots and inhuman moves of the terrorist groups inside the country. The people of Syria will be final winner of the resistance, Larijani stressed, voicing Tehran’s opposition to any military or bullying solution to the Syrian crisis. “Only diplomatic solutions can put an end to the ongoing crisis in Syria.” Meanwhile, the Syrian side, for his turn, briefed Larijani on latest developments in his country, appreciating Tehran’s support for Damascus in regional and international scenes. Al-Laham said certain countries in the region are taking hypocritical position vis-à-vis the ongoing situation in Syria closing their eyes intentionally on the savage crimes of terrorist groups. The Syrian parliamentarian also hoped for finding a quick peaceful solution to the crisis./end
