Tajik Speaker: Iran Role-model To Growth For Islamic Countries

Dushanbe, Feb 8, IRNA – Tajik Parliament Speaker Shakour Jan Zohorov on Friday said that in the past 36 years since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Iran proved that Islamic countries could well achieve a place among world advanced nations. The Speaker made the remarks in a meeting with the caretaker Iranian Ambassador to Tajikistan Seyyed Mahmoud Sadri here. Zohorov extended his congratulations to the ambassador on the victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran and called for increased Tehran-Dushanbe ties in all areas. He described abundant historical, cultural, religious and language commonalities between the two countries as a base for promotion of bilateral relations. Sadri, for his part, expressed pleasure over the growing bilateral ties over the past few years. Iran will spare no efforts to help the development trend in the friendly country of Tajikistan, Sadri said. He extended the invitation letter of Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani to Zohorov to participate in the ninth Inter-Parliamentary Conference of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation to be held in Tehran on February 15-20, 2014./end
