Tajikistan ready to develop cooperation with Russia in fight against modern threats - president

DUSHANBE, January 20. /TASS/. Tajikistan will continue implementing its policy of open doors in foreign relations and is ready to cooperate will all countries, including Russia, the country’s President Emomali Rahmon said on Wednesday. "Our foreign policy is based on constructive cooperation, and we are ready to cooperate with all countries, including our traditional partners, in particular Russia," Rahmon said in his annual address to the parliament. "We are ready to develop cooperation with Russia in countering modern threats together," he added. Rahmon stressed that "any disagreements in the sphere of international and inter-state relations should be solved by exclusively diplomatic means." Talking about modern threats, especially the situation in Afghanistan, the president stressed that terrorism threatens the world just as much as nuclear weapons. Read more
