Takfiri Groups Making Attempts To Discredit Islam

Tehran, June 16, IRNA – Takfiri groups are making attempts to distort the portray of Islam, said Police Chief Brigadier General Esmaeil Ahmadi Moqaddam on Monday. Certain foreign powers are clearly involved in the recent terrorist incidents in Iraq and Syria which are carried out in the name of religion, he added. He reiterated that the Takfiri groups are supported by mercenary Baathist officers, intelligence services of enemies, and regional reactionary countries, adding that they are also trying to sow discord among Muslim sects./end
