Talks between Foreign Ministers of DPRK and Russia Held

Pyongyang, April 12 (KCNA) -- Talks were held between DPRK Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on Tuesday. Ri is heading the DPRK government delegation on an official visit to the Russian Federation. Present at the talks from the DPRK side were members of the delegation and the DPRK ambassador to Russia and his embassy officials, and from the Russian side were officials concerned of the Foreign Ministry. At the talks the two sides reached a consensus of their views that it conforms to the aspiration and desire of the peoples of the two countries to further develop the DPRK-Russia friendly and cooperative relations with a long history and tradition. They agreed to boost the reciprocal good-neighborly cooperative relations in various fields including politics and economy this significant year marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of DPRK-Russia diplomatic relations and exchanged their views on the regional and international matters of mutual concern. The Russian side expressed the stand fully supporting the detente and peaceful atmosphere created recently on the Korean peninsula thanks to the peace-loving stand and bold decision by the respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un. Ri Yong Ho met Nikolai Patrushev, secretary general of the Security Council of the Russian Federation on Monday. -0-
