Tatarstan Calls For Broadened Ties With Iran

Tabriz, June 25, IRNA – First Deputy chief executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency (TIDA), Robert Galiullin called for enhancement of trade ties between his country and Iran. Galiullin made the remarks in a meeting with East Azarbaijan governor general, Ahmad Alireza Beigi in northwestern city of Tabriz on Sunday. “Iran has acceptable capacities for petrochemical industries and agriculture and it can be a good trade partner for Tatarstan,” he added. Referring to high potential of Tatarstan in attracting tourists, Galiullin pointed out that Tatarstan was recognized as best tourism resort by Russia in 2011. Noting that Tatarstan provides Iranian investors with suitable opportunities for investment, he said that Tatarstan president guarantees the return of the capital of investors and entrepreneurs. The Tatar official pointed out that Tatarstan Minister of Trade Relations Development will attend a meeting slated for next month in Tabriz. Galiullin called for setting up direct flight between Tatarstan capital, Kazan and Tehran. East Azarbaijan governor general, Ahmad Alireza Beigi for his part said that Tabriz and Kazan became sister cities since two years ago which indicates their similarities and interactions. “Given becoming more familiar with the capacities of two cities, we are looking for strengthening bilateral economic cooperation. Merchants and traders should be involved in commercial affairs and officials can further help to materialization of economic objectives,” he added./end
