Tayyebnia Meets Tunisian President

Tehran, Nov 20, IRNA – Iranian Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs Ali Tayyebnia and Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki conferred in Kuwait on Tuesday on the sidelines of the third Arab-Afro Summit. During the meeting, the two officials called for enhanced economic cooperation between Tehran and Tunis They regretted that trade between Iran and Tunisia failed to keep up with the extensive capacities of both countries, calling for a joint specialized economic committee to be set up to help boost economic cooperation. Meanwhile, Tayyebnia, special representative of President Hassan Rouhani to the Summit, said that Iran’s newly-elected government is ready to promote relations with Tunisia particularly in economic sector. Iran has undertaken leadership of Non-Aligned Movement and Iranian minister of finance and economic affairs is representing President Hassan Rouhani, the current leader of NAM. NAM, major international organization after the United Nations, calls for restructuring the United Nations. NAM Leaders call for a seat for at the United Nations Security Council with veto power similar to the permanent members of the Security Council./end
