Tehran Friday Prayers Leader: Enemy Uses Regional States As Pressure Tools

Tehran, Feb 2, IRNA -- Some regional countries have become enemyˈs pressure tools, Tehran’s interim Friday Prayers Leader Hojatoleslam Kazem Sediqi said at the second sermon of this weekˈs Friday prayers. ˈSome regional countries act in line with the arrogant powers and provoke killing brother Muslims all around the Muslim world, including Syria. As Islamic teachings stipulate conspiracy aimed at hurting the unity of the Muslim Ummah is a crime far worse than murder.ˈ He noted that Muslims should be vigilant towards enemyˈs divisive plots, and added that Iranˈs Islamic Revolution was inspiring for the ongoing Islamic Awakening in the region. ˈThe revolution in Iran changed international equations and opened a new door in governance towards the world and particularly Muslims. Islamic Republicˈs achievements and successes are on the rise and on the contrary, the colonial powers of US and the EU states are on the decline.ˈ ˈGovernment and Majils (Parliament) should increase their mutual coopration and work unitedly to resolve economic problems. People have proven their loyalty to the Islamic Republic in the past 30 years.ˈ On many occasions, Iran has always warned that the US and the Zionist regime of Israel have hatched plots to sow the seed of discord among Muslim nations, and called on Muslims to keep vigilant against such conspiracies. On January 27, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad warned that arrogant powers are seeking to create rift among Muslims. Ahmadinejadˈs remarks were raised at the 23rd International Conference of Islamic Unity here in Tehran at the time. He stressed the necessity for unity in the Islamic community, and added, ˈWe should stay united and follow (the Holy) Quran and prophet of Islam. Now, all 1.5 billion Muslims love Quran and reading it, but why arenˈt they united?ˈ ˈHad the people in Pakistan and Afghanistan been united how could the US (forces) have deployed its forces in Afghanistan and Pakistan?ˈ Ahmadinejad asked. In similar remarks in December, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei lauded Palestinians for their recent victory over the Zionist regime in the 8-day Israeli war on Gaza, and said the war once again showed the necessity for unity among Muslims. As regards the lesson of the Gaza war for Muslims, Ayatollah Khamenei said that the development showed that despite the plots hatched by the arrogant power the Muslim world is making progress. The Leader also said that unity is among the essential needs of the Islamic world, and cautioned about the US-Israeli plot to spark rift among Muslims./end
