Tehran, Islamabad ties very close, strong: Envoy

Tehran, April 6, IRNA – Pakistani Ambassador to Tehran says his country and Iran enjoy very close and sincere relations which are rooted in the two countries' strong historical, religious, and cultural ties. Speaking on the sidelines of a ceremony in Tehran to mark National Day of Pakistan, Noor Mohammad Jadmani said the governments of Mohammad Nawaz Sharif and President Hassan Rouhani are for strengthening the existing ties and economic relations. The ambassador said there are abundant potentials in different fields of bilateral relations which can be employed in favor of the two sides. Pakistan National Day is on March 23. On this day in 1940, Indian Muslims adopted a resolution which later created an independent country for them. Pakistan's Embassy in Tehran celebrates the day later because of the new year holidays in Iran.
