Tehran Islamic Confab To Consolidate Islamic Unity : MP

Tehran, Feb 16, IRNA – A lawmaker said Sunday that 9th Session of Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States (PUIC) to start in the Iranian capital on Tuesday will lead to consolidation of unity among Muslim countries. Javad Saˈdounzadeh, head of Iran-Kuwait parliamentary friendship group, told IRNA the PUIC conference will also have positive impact on relations between the Islamic nations. Elaborating on the issue, he said, the upcoming Islamic gathering will remove misunderstandings and pave the way for fostering ties among Muslim nations. The parliamentarian described the PUIC conference as a start for further interactions between the Iranian Majlis and parliaments in other Islamic states. The 9th Session of the PUIC is slated for February 18-19./end
