Terrorists targeting heart of resistance: Iran Daily

Tehran, Nov 10, IRNA - 'Iran Daily' on Monday condemning the brutalities committed by the terrorists Takfiri group, warned that the seeds of Takfiri terrorism have been dispersed across Muslim countries and terrorists are used as mercenaries to mar the image of Islam. All Muslims should therefore be vigilant against Takfiris’ plot that is to highjack the wave of Islamic Awakening sweeping through the Middle East and North Africa, urged the English-language paper in its Opinion column (pg 3), praising Iran for already taking a firm stand against the sinister and vicious movement. Takfiri terrorists have been targeting Lebanon as the heart of the resistance in the Middle East. They have spent huge money to undermine the Arab country. But Iran, as the main supporter of the of the resistance front, spares no expense to shore it up vis-à-vis terrorists, underscored the daily. Northern Lebanon has been the scene of clashes between the army and Salafist militants under the command of the Al-Qaeda-linked Al-Nusra Front and pro-ISIL forces. The leaked data indicated that Takfiri militants attacked army bases in Tripoli with the aim of establishing an ‘Islamic state’. In the past few days, the Salafists launched coordinated attacks on bases in other towns in the north including Bhannine el-Minieh and El-Mahmra in response to the arrest of senior ISIL member Ahmad Salim Mikati in Tripoli. Takfiri terrorists in Iraq and Syria are losing ground against volunteer forces, creating a battlefield in Lebanon to compensate for their losses. The Lebanese army along with Hezbollah fighters managed to push them back and is determined to uproot terrorism. Iran fully supports the Arab country’s anti-terror acts, concluded the paper./end
