Thai Ambassador Calls For Enhanced Ties With Iran

Kish Island, Feb 10, IRNA – Thailandˈs ambassador to Tehran Adisorndej Sukhasvasti on Sunday expressed hope for a breakthrough in trade between the two nations in the near future. Speaking to IRNA, Sukhasvasti referred to abundant potentials for promotion of Tehran-Bangkok economic cooperation, calling for an increase in bilateral trade. Sukhasvasti said that he and the Iranian ambassador to Bangkok are working on different joint projects and planning for an increase in exchange of traders between Iran and Thailand. The Thai ambassador said that since the beginning of his term in office, President Hassan Rouhani has attempted to establish friendly ties with all countries, adding the new governmentˈs policy would lead to enhancement of ties with different countries, including Thailand. With a lot of experience in tourism sector, Thailand can cooperate with Iran in areas of culture, hotel management and holding exhibitions, the ambassador said. He also talked about the possibility of opening new air links between Thailand and Iranian tourism sites, including Kish Island. Referring to over 500 years of trade between the two countries, Sukhasvasti said he feels duty-bound to reflect Iranˈs internal realities and investment and tourism attractions for Thai people and traders./end
