Thai Court drops complaints against constitutional amendments

BANGKOK, July 13 (TNA) - Bangkok's Constitutional Court ruled Friday afternoon to drop five complaints against constitutional amendments supported by the government side. The Constitution Court ruled that the proposed Charter changes are constitutional and are not considered to lead to the overthrowing of the Constitutional Monarchy as claimed by the oppostion. Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, meanwhile, called on all parties to stay calm and accept the Constitution Court's verdict on the constitutionality of the Charter amendment bills. Asking the public not to resort to violence and act within legal limits, Yingluck said her Puea Thai Party-led government is duty-bound to continue working for the public and the nation.(TNA)
