Thai government mulls academic opinions on Charter changes

BANGKOK, July 10 (TNA) - Thai Deputy Prime Minister Pongthep Thepkanchana says that the government will consider results of researches on constitutional amendments from Thammasat and Ramkhamhaeng Universities before the next session of the House of Representatives starts on Aug 1, 2013. Pongthep told journalists on Wednesday morning that he will propose the results of the academic researches on Charter changes to the government's coalition parties after receiving them later in the day. Meanwhile, Thammasat University Rector Somkid Lertpaithoon acknowledged, meanwhile, that the government assigned the faculties of law and political sciences of his university to research on the constitutional amendments and both faculties have already concluded the seven-page research. According to the rector, Thammasat University's Vice Rector Parinya Thewanaruemitkul has been assigned to send the research results to the government. (TNA)
