Thai-Japanese relations strengthened

BANGKOK, December 7 (TNA) - Thai Deputy Prime Minister Yongyuth Wichaidit has announced that bilateral relations between Thailand and Japan have been strengthened. Yongyuth, who is also Interior Minister concurrently, told reporters that Thai-Japanese relationship will remain strengthened, following his meeting with Japanese Ambassador to Thailand H.E. Seiji Kojima at Bangkok's Government House Thursday. The Japanese top envoy paid a courtesy call on the Thai deputy premier, aimed at fostering the close relationship between Bangkok and Tokyo. According to the Thai deputy prime minister, the Japanese ambassador, however, did not raise a case related to a fatal shooting of a Japanese cameraman, Hiroyuki Muramoto, during violent political clashes between the then Thai government force and red-shirt anti-government protesters in Bangkok on April 10, 2010 for discussions this morning and did not request the new Pheu Thai government to expedite an official investigation on Muramoto's death, either.
