Thai PM urges politicians to stop bickering

BANGKOK, July 26 (TNA) - Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha has urged politicians to stop bickering and to help develop Thailand instead amid widespread rumours of a cabinet reshuffle as the country faces slow economic growth. His request was made Saturday while he attended a wedding party of a son of former deputy prime minister Somkid Jatusripitak, held at a Bangkok hotel and attended by many senior businessmen, politicians and advisers of the National Council for Peace and Order. While delivering his speech, blessing the newly wedded couple with happiness, General Prayut also took the opportunity to urge politicians to think of the next generation, saying Thailand had many clever people alongside the likes of Mr. Somkid, who had been serving as economic adviser to the junta administration, as well as ex-public health minister Sudarat Keyuraphan whom he had known since he was only a major. Political observers believed that Mr. Somkid could be appointed deputy prime minister and economic chief while Khunying Sudarat could be appointed adviser to the NCPO in the next cabinet reshuffle. But Khunying Sudarat so far denied the reports. (TNA)
