Thai PM to visit Nakhon Phanom on Monday

BANGKOK, March 26 (TNA) - Prime Minister Gen. Prayuth Chan-o-cha to be accompanied by his government’s economic team is scheduled to visit the northeastern province of Nakhon Phanom on Monday to press ahead key development projects. During his one-day visit, the prime minister will Wat Phra That Phanom to pay respect to Buddha relics and to see an exhibition on Thailand’s plan to propose this centuries-old temple to be listed as a World Heritage site. Later in the afternoon, the prime minister will chair a meeting with the state and private joint committee of the upper Northeastern provinces of Nakhon Phanom, Sakon Nakhon, and Mukdahan at Nakhon Phanom University. The meeting will discuss the projects that the provincial cluster wants support from the government such as projects on agriculture and food, as well as on tourism promotion, and water management projects. Before returning to Bangkok, Gen Prayut will also visit the province’s new landmark of Naga statue on the bank of the Mekong River. (TNA)
