MOSCOW, February 24. /TASS/. Thailand's Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will pay a visit to Russia to take part in the Russia-ASEAN summit, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has said. "I remember how we discussed the development of relations between Thailand and Russia in Bangkok and Manila last year (on the sidelines of the APEC summit in the Philippines). I hope that both your visit and the forthcoming prime minister’s visit within the framework of the Russia-ASEAN summit will contribute to the comprehensive development of the Russian-Thai relations," Medvedev said on Wednesday at a meeting with Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan and Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak. The Russian premier noted that the Thai delegation would meet with members of the Russian government and the Security Council. "I hope the events will be successful. Meanwhile, we will evaluate the situation in general, how our relations are developing," Medvedev said. Wongsuwan thanked the Russian prime minister for finding the time to meet with the Thai delegation. "On behalf of my prime minister who will pay an official visit to Russia in May he sent us to prepare this visit and to expand our cooperation," he said.
